OCTAIKON | | |
Churches we have known
Having talked a bit about ideas of God, and how Christians in particular believe
we are made in God’s image, I now want to look at how I have come to
understand groups of God-believers from a Christian perspective – i.e.
churches. The differences have always perplexed me.
Throughout the decades, while getting to know the Christian church in its various
forms, its people, and trying to understand its doctrines, I began to ask the
question – why are there so many denominations, each one so sure that they
have the correct understanding and expression of the faith? Gradually I began to
get answers. It was these answers that pushed me in great measure towards
developing the Octaikon to make sense of the diversity (and sadly disunity) of
the church. Here are some of the ways I have used it.
