Cross Balance

bullet1 The faculties paired

But in practice it is not so logical.
We may use our different  faculties simultaneously,
sometimes skip a step, or sometimes go in reverse,
depending on how we relate to the environment or other people.
For instance, we must think while listening to someone;
we may act without thinking properly;
what we say may be quite the opposite of what we do;
and what we say or do will determine what we hear and think next.

The interaction between these different faculties
 can be represented by a diagram.
If observing and applying are the outer pair of the whole sequence,
then interpretation and expression form an inner pair.
If we rotate this inner pair clockwise,
we have the four faculties forming crossed spectra.
Why this is a useful representation will become apparent later.
The lines and arrows in the middle
show the possible sequences in exercising the faculties.
Good relationships and an effective life need
a proper use and balance of all four faculties.
