Cross Balance

bullet1 Balance

If you ride a bicycle, you need to keep balanced.
You balance by steering and leaning one way or the other
at appropriate times.
But it should not be over or under done.
Otherwise you’ll fall off and someone will suffer.
With practice it should become automatic.
If you ride a tandem bicycle (I had one once),
things are at once more difficult.
It requires co-operation to keep balance.
Someone has to take the lead, and someone has to follow.
So it is with the ride of life – or should be.
We need to maintain balance, avoid hurting others,
keep out of the ditches, and keep to the path.
Some must lead – others must follow.

Because we all have different personalities,
we tend to lean, lead or follow one way or the other.
That’s fine, but we must understand and co-operate with each other.
If we go our own way, we all go overboard.
Unfortunately that is the way with most of the world.
All the colourful differences
– especially in the Christian world -
have subtracted to form a muddy murkiness,
instead of adding to form a shining example of how humanity should behave.

The ride of life requires that we use all our faculties in balance
