Five Races/ Many Cultures

There are traditionally five human races –
Caucasians, Mongolians, Ethiopians, Americans and Malayans,
though racial demarcations are now considered more complex and less distinct.
I did wonder if races tended towards one temperament or another
– and decided that this was not the case.
However, within or bridging the races, my own observation
- living in different parts of the world -
leads me to think that some cultures do have particular temperaments.
For example,
many African cultures seem to be sanguine in nature – very expressive.
Latin-Americans tend to be choleric – often volatile and impulsive.
Some Asians are often rather reflective and melancholic.
And certain Europeans tend to be rather withdrawn and phlegmatic
(eg the British?).
It is perhaps a bit misleading to classify like this,
and actually what I am observing is a cultural personality,
rather than an underlying temperament.
