bullet1 Four stages of team development

When a team forms,
typically there are four stages through which it passes.
To begin with, members meet together and observe each other (forming).
Then they begin to let down barriers and express their views (storming).
They then start to cooperate
and begin to lay down ground rules for behaviour (norming).
Finally, as a group, they begin to function and produce results (performing).
How quickly and effectively a team forms
will depend on how willingly members are prepared
to control their temperaments.

The wide range of music – classical, pop, rap, rock, folk, opera, chant etc –
satisfies our many temperaments,
and uses all our faculties as composer, player, conductor, or listener.
It’s performance often requires skilled team-work which takes time to achieve.
