bullet2 A020 FACT net: Forest, Farm, and Community Tree Network

This is a network which now functions only as a web site maintained by Winrock International’s Forestry and Natural Resource Management Program. English

Although FACT Net no longer functions, the web site still provides several useful resources such as factsheets on multipurpose tree species (see   A022 ) and agroforestry techniques in the Pacific (see A021 ). FACT Net was an international network of community groups, development workers, tree breeders, researchers, students, and farmers who shared an interest in the use of multipurpose trees to improve the soil, protect the environment, and enhance the well-being of farm families and other land users.  The network provided skills and resources needed to introduce, improve, and manage multipurpose trees successfully through extension, communications, and research. It was created in 1995 with the assimilation of the Nitrogen Fixing Tree Association (NFTA) into Winrock International’s Forestry and Natural Resource Management Program. It closed in 1999, but Winrock's program maintains the web site as an on-line resource.
