Ken Campbell is an environment and information systems specialist with extensive experience of GIS, knowledge management and international development. Takes a holistic viewpoint, integrating environmental, social and economic information. Experienced in environmental assessment (EIA), M&E, ecological research, information systems, and remote sensing for management support. He also has experience in protected area planning, questionnaire surveys, and drought monitoring/warning, as well as the design and maintenance of web-sites/CD-ROM for information, policy and project support. Activities have included: analysis of factors responsible for illegal bushmeat hunting in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania; EIA of dams for hydropower and water supply in Indonesia and Kenya; Environment and social monitoring of hydropower construction in Kenya; GIS and National Park planning in Bosnia-Herzegovina; GIS for contaminated land assessment in UK; evaluation of Swedish environmental support to Tanzania; Support for information services; CD-ROM based knowledge management toolboxes on livestock in Development; Adviser on knowledge management and database issues for the DFID Research Into Use Programme. Also involved in monitoring of dormouse and bat populations. UK-based, available for short term consultancies, as well as team collaboration and remote support to project teams using VoIP, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) and other Internet communication and collaboration tools.
